Why are you helping turn George Orwell into a prophet? Find a better hobby that helps the people, not the oppressive governments.
I can't figure out how to link pictures to patients?
No, wiretapping in the interception of audio through electronic or oral means in a private area.
The idea for this app seems really cool, but seeing the user interface control it looks really tricky to use, as you seem to go to the main google glass screen all the time etc.
I have no experience using Glass, but I hope the controls can be improved a lot so you stay within the app itself?
Nice man
The facial recognition to Access clinical record is one of the essential issues in Health 4.0
HAHA,I'm just troll'n. She is beautiful and you are lucky. I was joking to my workmate that she probably is giving you hell for using a pic of her 😛
There's some pictures of us together on my Google Plus profile – although I shouldn't have used the picture I did here, I think that was meant to be a personal treat one, ha.
that can't be your girlfriend!!!
I gave a lightning talk on developing for Google Glass at a company called Practice Fusion that makes an EMR. They did say they were interested in extending their offering on to Glass. I think their EMR is free/ad supported, however, so it may not be the best out there. That said, Google is mostly ad supported too. 🙂
This particularly hack doesn't use audio beyond the user's own voice commands and submitted voice notes.
A lot of that is due to using Android Screen Monitor. It pulls screenshots as fast as it can, but you still get a lot of lag and poor frame rate. That said, it does take time for things implemented by web service to come back. It's great Google announced a native SDK is coming now, which will allow instant response for things that can be calculated locally.
I don't like a lot of all text cards myself, it's difficult to tell them apart when using the device. It's a screen the size of your thumb above where you naturally look, not a big huge computer screen.
Suuuuuure that's your girlfriend. Lol
Too much useless iconography for no good reason. Design needs to be simplified.
This is such a progression of technology it's not going to be perfect your going to have proems of coarse. This perfected will not only cause a huge succession of money spent by average Americans but will also progress the technology use all over the world. When you think about it, it's legitly scary. It will almost definitely progress and in a sense take control of the human population both mentally and economically. This product will only make people rich
It's really laggy
Hey I saw Matt
Also no audio without permission. Federal wiretap law.
Yeah, now… Please steal the design for the VA emr system and put something similar on the glass. I would love you long time! Can't seem to find a emr system better than the VA one.
thanks for the great answer!
Yep, for medical records there are laws protecting personal information such as HIPAA. You keep all data on a web server, not caching, pulling it down for use while the client is being used by an authorized person (password, etc.). On the server, when not in use it is usually stored encrypted, and you require multiple things to decrypt so that you don't just need the site source code and DB file, but also correct interaction with a separate key server, for example.
okay so, imagine your apps goes viral and it's a well known app among the medical sector and I go and see my doctor and he diagnoses me with a terrible disease. Now imagine the doctor got robbed, now the thief has access to all the medical reports of the doctor's patients.. i don't think this would be a good thing. I would recommend that if you deal with this kind of information you should really use encryption keys or something. Nice concept btw
Douchebaggery
GOOD IDEA
but better if glass can live tracking face recognition in screen just like augmented reality in smartphone .
stop this google, your glass just like fake augmented reality . Google please we need the real augmented reality device, not just picture or word in screen .
Looks pretty well like some lame crap
"His Girlfriend" haha yeah right.
As far as I know, the only laws in place for this are with respect to public photography, which say it is OK except in cases with a reasonable expectation of privacy (walking down the street, holding hands in a park – OK, entering a PIN on an ATM – not OK). You can find a lot of summaries of the laws online. I don't think there are any laws against searching using a public photo after that.
This isn't good that it can do this, it's a massive invasion of privacy of anyone you look at when you wear these glasses as the data is stored by Google forever. If you walk down the street Google stores all that you see and then runs searches for people on that stored data. This is very not good. Not good, at all.
This technology needs to have extremely restrictive laws governing its usage and I will not consent to anyone capturing my face with this, as a passerby or by accident — ever.
Lance you need to rethink this.
What will happen when you do this to me, and I see the glasses on you, is that I will inform you to take off the glasses and cease and desist all facial recognition of me and searches. If you do not stop, then the glasses are going to record you violating my Rights and my request and my non-agreement to be searched.
This will be stored on Google's servers, and when I sue you, Google will have a perfect record of you not complying with my request.

Hmm, there isn't any built in face match functionally. I'm using the BetaFace API, but know there are alternatives using OpenCV. Confidence level of the match also improves with more and higher quality photos. In my case I only had two pictures already loaded for Chloe, and those taken by taking pictures of pictures. More training images would improve the confidence level.
A probability of 55% is like a 50-50 chance a face matches. This begs the question: How accurate is Google Glass' face recognition software?
Awesome!
a great job o//
Incredible! It's great to see someone using Glass with facial recognition.
Also best for Android dev., actually. On Linux I have to run ADB as root or mess with a permissions file that has changed format several times over different versions of Ubuntu. On Windows I often have to nuke all the USB drivers and reinstall to get a particular phone to work every month or so. On Mac you just plug it in and it works.
Amusingly, I do all my Windows Phone 8 dev on a Mac too. Couldn't get internet access for their emulator to work on my Windows machine, but Windows 8 in VMWare on Mac can do it.
Wow, this is really awesome! I love that we're starting to see such innovative uses for Glass 🙂
