I suppose you're FED UP OF ME THE SAME WAY I'M FED UP OF YOUR "STATISTICS", so this SHALL BE MY LAST COMMENT : London 5 M ridership annually; Madrid 626 M. London serves TWICE the populacion than Madrid.I REST MY CASE. As the Spanish proverb states: "Lo que la naturaleza no da, Salamanca tampoco presta"
Yes; IT SHOULD BE SUCH A CUTTIE since according to your video Glasgow's "annual" ridership 40000 annual; just 115 trips per day!! I WONDER HOW IT LASTED SO LONG WITH SUCH BIG USE!! or YOU GOT IT AGAIN WROOOONG!
Dnipropetrovski underground "FIRST" to open in the former USSR in 1995!? or RATHER AFTER THE COLLAPSE OF THE FORMER USSR?. I might be a "ferrocarril ignorant" BUT in MATHS&HISTORY 1930s (Moskovski metro) CAME EARLIER than 1990s
Thanks for filling Sea of Marmara with soil that would solve the traffic congestion in İstanbul
The Tyne and Wear metro definitely needs a long awaited upgrade, also its light rail as it runs on heavy rail lines too, has to be my favourite ngl
Metro Madrid is the best
2:30 What a shitty video: Berlin has 1,5 BILLION riders a year and NOT million. If you make video, make it right next time.
LMAO, in Porto the Metro is an LRT systej
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍❤❤
My favourite one is Bucharest metro )) 🇷🇴 #1979
Hamburg sir gut 🙂
Düsseldorf, because of their new Wehrhahn line. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wehrhahn-Linie
Stockholm
Warsaw , Why , apart from Sydney ( which never got a mention ) , Warsaw is the only other rail system I have traveled on , and how its changed , back in 1991/92 ( after the demise of communism ) , wow , old rail cars , fiber glass seats and very cold !
London
in 2019 istanbul subway———> 224 km
Glasgow subway is my favourite . . . Because I'm scottish but also because its tiny and cute!
I have drawn up plans for other lines in glasgow and 2 metro lines for edinburgh too though!
Besides that, I do love the london underground and paris metro ofcourse!
I've also had experience of the Berlin U-Bahn – which I thought was rather excellent (but will be better when U5 and U55 are connected!)
And the Lisbon metro is pretty brilliant. It's more or less enough to cover the important parts of the city and the expansion plans I've seen pretty much cover the remaining, as yet observed, important places.
It's great to see the tyne and wear metro in this list!
Its ridership figures look brilliant!
It's a shame we dont see the same proliferation of metro systems in the UK that France, Italy and Germany have.
Off the top of my head . . .
Edinburgh
Liverpool (Merseyrail could easily be incorporated)
Manchester
Sheffield
Birmingham
Cardiff
Bristol
And Belfast
Could all do with some kind of Metro / underground RER style service.
I'm pleased to announce that Dublin has plans for its metro systems.
I know Paris Metro is old but St Petersbug & Moscow as well, so there is no excuse for being so bad.
Prague of course.
1. Sentiment
2. Huge modernization – i.e. fully automatic trains
3. Very good informative time tables
4. Whole system is covered – above ground tracks are leaded in artificial tunnels, even as part of the bridge over deep valley (Nusel's bridge)
5. Reporting – "Finish the exit and boarding, doors are closing…" 🙂
SEVILLE?
also hats off to london underground, built mainly over time from 1963 to present using different techniques in deep drilling to cut and cover stations, amazing how over time they would dig new lines then align it with already built stations, then having to align passageways and walkways to other stations to connect. from a technological perception london has to be the most amazing underground system in the world.
warsaws my favourite, the picture there at the end didnt do it justice, all the centrally located stations are built to the exact same specification, from the station up to the esculators and to the outside, only difference is the colour of the mural on the wall depicting the name of the station. its spotlessly clean, when i was there i never seen one bit of rubbish, and its not to busy.
1:01 it would be bad walking through that gangway if the train is moving
Prague has the most understandable timetable.
at 13:40 what a scary look
blah blah blah ıstanbul metro sı so moden beatıfful and best you see ıt and know ıt .
London London London
Miss Frankfurt 🙁
“Which” is the best . . , . .
Not shown. Duisburg. An annex of the larger Rhein Ruhr system, some tram type trains of older stock.
Often unclear in what timeframe ridership numbers are. Some are annual, others must bei daily.
1.London
2.Berlin
3.Dortmund
London !
The most beautiful metro in Europe is stockholm
Amsterdam
Moscow central metro stations is a museum
My favorites are The London Underground and The ones from The Netherlands 🙂
THANK you for your remarkable compilation. Glad to find Vienna rated so high. My "one & only". Greetings from Canada!
My criterias for who is the best: 1. Do the trains depart/arrive on time? Are they affordable? Nothing else matters.
favorite: London
The best: Moscow, st Petersburg, and Munich
My city: Toronto
Санкт-петербургский
You missed Birmingham
London is the best. No train sounds as good as the 1996 tube stock.
La metropolitana di Roma ha 3 linee di cui l'ultima in ordine di realizzazione è senza guidatore, poi ha anche altre 2 linee di ferrovie metropolitane secondarie, più 8 linee di ferrovie urbane/regionali.
Prague!👍
bucharest metro
The London Underground…
Opened: 1863
Stations: 270
Length: 250 Miles (400km)
Number of trains: 543
Passengers per day: 5,000,000
Passengers 2017/18: 1,357,000,000
Why does London's metro not show the whole map?
