Looks Great, When I cut my boards around the post like that and predrill my holes they still break off half the time ? Im in WV lots of mobile homes here. Lots of block underpinning and wooden decks.

Question. When you dug the 2 holes at the bottom of the stairs for the 2 posts, Are the 2 posts cemented in or are they just filled in with dirt alone? Great video!
The CWF link didn't work for me. If I am tearing out a 20 year old deck and replacing, is it safe to keep the original posts if they are in decent shape? Thanks.

Cant handle the music
Just wondering why this video doesn't seem to be that old so why would you not have used hardware that attaches the floor and railing boards from underneath? It is more ascetically pleasing and there are no indentations to hold water. Otherwise I do like the video it seems easy enough to follow and the end result with stain is well done.

Excellent video and superb craftsmanship.
Never again will I dig a hole for 6×6 or 4×4 with a post hole digger. Why spend hours of back-breaking work when you can just use a gas auger and have the hole dug in minutes.
