All philosophy leads to buddhism and tao ism. Platonic thought and stoicism are prerequesites to buddhism. Western philosphers never fully got it but they were on on the path

something is unclear to my leemans mind,… He mentions 2 mistakes we make, according to Epictitus: (at minute 9:48) what is the zone one? Is that area 2 in the beforementioned Phylosophy of Inner Freedom and Resilience? I know this is 6 years old, but I hope that someone could clarify that to me. THanks in advance…..

I can't stop laughing at CBT
Can't agree more. Stoicisim is a really powerful tool, it has helped me overcome my high anxiety and saved my life.
In my humble opinion , this is the best ever Tedex presentation . Polished performance , classy delivery and most importantly , incredible content which everyone can benefit from .Stoicism has improved my life in so many ways …..’ Amor fati . “ . . Thank you for this amazing presentation .
this is a good vid. the teachings here are good for healthy thinking. THE PROBLEM with studying philosophy, is that yes, it can reform your life and society…..BUT NOT IF YOU ARE RE POLLUTED BY SPORTS, TV , HOLLYWOOD and the shallow corrupt "voices" of the "world" system and its narrative. A LOT OF AMERICANS are no longer tolerant of wisdom, philosophy or morality. most young people think it strange when they encounter people who love to think, think things out, don't want to be rushed, or love philosophy. Most people are note educated nor do they want to be educated. they believe the TV news outlets and want their cell phones and internet and social gossip everywhere they go. it harder and harder to find people who are intelligent and want to politely discuss things, more and more.
The real question is 'why should we save our lives?'
💗
Journals great idea
I'll refer to this talk again its very helpful
Easy, this video cured my depression and anxiety for months.
Anyone who struggles… Choose a philosophy that best for you.
Stoicism and Buddhism are two of the greatest philosophies that I have studied and put into practice. They both aim at attaining 'neutrality' when confronted by good, bad, sad, disturbing, etc events. Buddhism taught me to let go and not give a reaction to things that had already happened, like getting cheated on by my partner at the time. Stoicism has taught me how resilient I am and how I mentally impose limits on myself that don't need to exist.
Your thoughts are your power. You give strength to those negative thoughts that impede on your peaceful life, so learn to give strength to the positive thoughts. It is ten times easier to be negative than it is to be positive.
Goodness!
1:50 — I had the same after taking LSD with my friends on a beach last summer. Everything was going so good, but than the terrible existential horror came suddenly, some time after.
If you want to train your brain to think like this the best school system to go through is the IB 100%
Bravo, great explanations and he touches the important questions of life.
He really hit the nail towards the end, Philosophy will not give you the final answers, but will give you the tools to explore the great questions for yourself.

Living a good life = living by virtues – wisdom, love, courage, temperance, justice, and spirituality.
Excellent!
Great talk, really worth watching.

CBT doesn't work for me… however, DBT does. I have PTSD, BPD and generalised anxiety disorder.
