  1. » EXTRA POINTERS: 1) to skip straight to the tutorial, forward to 1:40. 2) in the video I used hair-cutting scissors and I'd highly recommend using these instead of regular scissors for a cleaner cut ☺ Happy snipping ❤

  2. This is the best, easiest technique for home cutting that I have ever seen. It is still so professional, while still keeping it simple enough that it's doable. Thank you soo so much for sharing this. I have been cutting my hair at home for a couple years, but I have not found a video that I was comfortable following to do layers. I always do face framing layers, which after watching my previous stylist do time & time again, were easy for me to catch on to. However, I have very long & very curly hair (3 b+c mixed) & it is in desperate need of layers to give it some volume & body. Now that I have found this gem, I will be adding them in & giving my hair an all over trim today!! I am truly excited & not at all nervous because of how good, how in depth, and how similar this tutorial is, while still being very simple, almost foolproof!! Excellent job! You & your hair are so beautiful & you shine from the inside out. Instant subscription from me! 😊💕👏🏻

  3. How do you take care of your hair? I know you say you don't use products, but what kind of shampoo or conditioner do you use and how often do you wash your hair?

  4. I'm going to try this because right now I look like that guy Armand from Interview With The Vampire, and hairdresser salons are very stressful places for me. These layers look beautiful, I'm really looking forward to do this, many thanks for sharing your technique ❤

  5. Thank you so much for posting this! I followed along exactly and just took my time, and it came out perfect!!!! My last "salon" haircut was a disaster, so I plan on cutting my own hair like this forever now haha;).

  6. THIS IS THE BEST DIY HAIRCUT EVER. WOW!!!!!!! I’ve been trying to minimize my finances and finding new ways to live a more minimalistic life. This is seriously the most practical, effective, and PROFESSIONALLY APPRECIATED video!!!! Seriously like many below, this is the haircut I’ve wanted but a stylist never understood my preference. BUT NOW I CAN DO IT MYSELF HOLY HECK THIS IS AMAZING

  7. The last time I cut my hair in layers was a few years back and I just remember I put it in a ponytail on top of my head and it took me like 3 hours to do bc I have a ton of hair and long hair. I’ve been debating to going to a hairdresser which charges me more because of my hair length and amount, I’m going to give it a try. I’ll be back in a few hours for and update.

  8. I just gave myself the best self haircut of my life. After I did this wet, I followed up with straightened dry hair and practically did the same thing. My hair looks stunning!

  9. Did it !!! It’s perfect… had boring hair now i feel way more stylish. Don’t rush it girls follow the video and go back as many time as you need to be sure you are doing exactly as her. Thank you for this amazing tuto 💕

  10. Nope, after multiple viewings, I still cannot fathom how to determine how to divide the "top two-thirds" of my hair. Based on what – volume? AND I almost cut a chunk of flesh out of my hand. And I screwed up the first part. You make it look easy. It's not. You do it much too quickly, but if we slow it down, the vocal part is unusable. Some of us cannot do the "girly girl" stuff. Also, I'm blind in one eye and therefore have no depth perception (and just found out the hard way I cannot see well enough to point cut). Seriously, I should be making a comedy version of this, except no way I'm going to appear on camera lol. Sorry, you completely lost me multiple times. Can't even figure out which side is your right vs. left – are you using a mirror? Which side are we seeing? Looks lovely on you – thanks for sharing and trying to educate the hopeless among us.

  11. You're young enough that you can take it for granted that you can a) see without having to constantly put on reading glasses, and b) strong enough to hold up your arms long enough to accomplish this.

  12. Just went for this completely following the tutorial and I was super nervous but it turned out PERFECT. This is exactly what I feel like I always ask for but never get. I think the trick is to make sure you pinch the hair tight with your fingers and get the angle as perfectly vertical as you can while you’re holding it

  13. Wooow, this girl is so talented and patient 😉 I don't think I'll ever have the patience to do this myself, but I think I will show it to my grandma and ask her to cut my hair. Thanks for the share.

  14. Your process is too long…. Try this: comb/brush ur hair upsidedown (w/ur head down of course) then cut it simply straight based on ur desired length… After cutting, turn ur head up again and brush ur hair normally. You'll see that u have created a layered cut in a fast and simple method! 😉 i have been doing this style many times already! (just discovered it myself!) 😏💋🇵🇭💄💋

  15. I am so grateful for this video! I was blessed (and cursed) with very thick, and quick growing hair. My mom used to layer my hair for me when I was in high school- but now a mother myself, 8 years later I rarely have the patience or time to invest in properly trimming up my hair. My version was downright awful honestly lol and thick long hair can become such a burden that it made me want to shave my whole head! It took me less than an hour to trim a good 4 inches off, get rid of all the dead ends, and layer it using this exact step by step video. I'm ecstatic! It feels so much lighter, has volume and depth and feels so amazing as if 10 pounds were lifted off my head!
Thanks for the video I will cut my hair this way for as long as I live! Haha

  16. The first home haircut video YouTube recommended showed a girl putting her hair in a high ponytail, then a second hair elastic about an inch from the end of the ponytail and cutting off the hair at the end. I wasn't about to try that ridiculous method. Thank you for teaching the same cut my hairdresser does for me! Hardest part is holding the hair tight over my head because it's longer than my arms.
