7. If you staked the seed sideways with the split between the two cotyledons facing up, you would save the the tree trunk, which wants to grow up, from having to first grow down and then up to escape the cotyledons. The plant proper wants to grow up, just as the roots want to grow down.

12. I started mine as well. I cant tell if it healthy or not. One of the sprouts is white one is brown. There seems to be some white spots on it.

28. Thanks for sharing. It's a bit cold where I live in winter but I think I'll give this a go come spring time. It looks like trying this in a pint size or larger glass wouldn't be a bad idea to give the root more room to grow into.

30. Hey very cool video. We followed all your instructions and we are excited to see the end result. With the almonds, had you tried organic non GMO almonds? Sometimes that makes a difference

31. I've heard that using bottle water works best because softener salt might damage the sprouting process. Maybe that's the almond tree problem

40. The curling of the root will have negative impact, in the future. That main root is meant to grow straight down and not curl. Maybe a longer container for the root to have room to grow
