I have an encryption question, and I may have the wrong idea. Since the data is all being encrypted using a key that I think is generated using the login credentials and other things, then how does the tunnel encrypt the initial authentication credentials, since an encrypted connection needs them in the first place to be established? Wouldn't the credentials have to be in cleartext? Does it have to do with asymmetric encryption?
Watching these after reading my certification books reenforces what I have read in my study guide!😁😀
I don't get it. in one slide you show the datagram with the AH header next to IP, and in the other the ESP is right next to IP. Surely one wraps around the other? Is there one that shows all the headers combined, the "final state" after its all happily encrypted, before it gets transmitted?
