Simulation by Robert Knop, illustrating the redshifting of light due to cosmological expansion. As the Universe expands, the wavelength of the light is stretched as it travels through the expanding spacetime of the Universe.
Also note that the distance the light travels is equal neither to the distance between the galaxies at the time the photon was emitted nor to the distance between the galaxies at the time of the photon’s arrival.

I do not accept this
если правильно понимаю..то в центре круга это волна света?! с расширяющим пространством? (голубое) т.е если расширяется пространство то длинна волны тоже?(смещение на красный)
Is this redshift observed in all directions? Is there any blueshift and if so, wouldn't that be somewhat indicative of where we are in relation to the Universe? (Unless the Universe is expanding faster than light, of course…)
