Sony’s Men In Black International continues the long 2019 list of Hollywood flops by being one of the incompetent movies of the year. With all the drama behind the scenes, this film is too much of a mess to properly analyze in adequate time, but luckily, that can be done by analyzing just one aspect of it that represents all the central problems it has — the hero. In today’s episode of Anatomy of a Failure, let’s take a lesson from MIB International on how to create one of the most boring main characters ever.

  1. The new writers' room has kept me pretty occupied, but don't think I forgot about you Fellas and Fellarettes!

And big ups to all my Patrons for helping me keep the content coming. Couldn't do this without you!!

  2. Taika Waititi is the real genius making Thor 3 enjoyable despite two of the main cast are boring cast. Actually, Thor 3 save by Hulk moment. Both Chris & Tessa aren't that good, especially Tessa … she's just the black version of Kristen Stewart.

  3. If this is the new formula of having non subtle feminist female characters being the end and be all in all upcoming movies then be prepared Hollywood to continue to lose Billions.

  4. Describes the film as uninspired and boring and proceeds to suggest that one of the most generic setups for a story, the old parents died stuff that's been done a million times before, would somehow make it a better story. Despite the fact that the audience wouldn't care about the parents so it would effectively be exactly the same. Glad you're not writing the screenplays. Movie still sucked though.

  5. Should have had her fail the test, not become an agent and then sneak her way onto the mission for the alien responsible for her mother’s death. Play her off as a more motivated character who doesn’t necessarily know her way around all the MIB gear but succeeds anyway and gets awarded by becoming a MIB agent at the end. Basically the structure of Mulan, I guess.

  6. So I'm about 7 minutes in and this looks like they just remade the first one, but gender swapped J, made him a little less appealing in personality, and gave him the hots for K. It seems to follow almost the same exact beats.

  7. Don't know if anyone else has said this, but I'm getting "The Force Awakens" flash backs…. Cough* Mary Sue* Cough, Empower Waemen… Cough* Rey. And that is how you develop a character like Rey, Captain Marvel or any leading "action" lady in films in this glass ceiling dystopia…. Thank you Amy Pascal… Snubbing Ivan Reitman in leu of Paul Feig… clap clap clap… Oh sorry? What's that? You don't have Spider-Man Success? No more Female leads bastard sizing Ghostbuster films?… Oh, Well, go cry to some man babies… im sure they are MAN enough to outman your testosterone drive :P… Or not… If you don't know what im talking about… and that's fair comment… This is the kind of people running our movie franchises… Have a listen to how she says … "As a waemen… and its my JOB to CONTROL how people feel?>>!!> Wtf??? https://youtu.be/PoVyWaoa9pM?t=109 Er.. that sounds a bit DICTATORish. Oh but I'm no "leader" I guess "Leading" these days requires a no holds bar I WILL MAKE YOU feel HOW I WANT YOU to FEEL approach. Bye bye freedoms of BOTH men and woman. Welcome to the Orwellian future. (Orwellian
    [ɔːˈwɛlɪən]

    ADJECTIVE

characteristic of the writings of George Orwell, especially with reference to his dystopian account of a future totalitarian state in Nineteen Eighty-Four.)

  8. Like all brownwashing in media she's a Mary Sue, super smart, super strong, unbeatable, and superior to the silly white men. Typical propaganda that is pumped out en masse because there's no backlash, born of racist tropes trying to push an agenda.

  9. Ah this again… another franchise obliterated by sjws… Who finance these? It's like they DONT want to make money back. "Let's apply the pattern that will completely fail and loose all our money." I really wonder what's the reasoning behind these decisions.

  10. So the more female heros appearing in movies is not to every ones taste. So its a new sub-genre, seen as horrific by incels for fear girls would have more reasons not to date them. So its a work in progress for female heros, with some growing issues. Its a step in the right direction, it the right way to go and its being criticised by incels too damn much. Calm down guys, learn how to be less like sick jerks as there will always be girls with low self esteem to want to touch your willy.

  11. I've started to put together a list of recent movies that write male lead as a soyboy or turn him into a castrated male in a sequel. Would love suggestions from y'all. Wouldn't it be great if Filmento did a video based on what we culminate?
