  1. In a couple years you will have great gardens. Even the firstbyear, but it gets better over time, it does take a bit of time to get good though, but i made it work the first year and its awesome. Type in Paul Gautschi nd see all the videos of his garden and orchards and people touring them, eating the stuff and asking questions. You can see it for yourself, it works !! Hope this helps you out !

  2. Man, i have to tell that basically all that physical work you are doing is absolutely not necessry, and even useless. A waste of your time. Watch the method of Back To Eden Garden, the official film, and you will see that all you have to do is layer complst on top of the soil. Period. Like it is done in the creation, in mature in the woods and fields. A man named Paul Gautschi, you can see him online and his gardens and orchards, growing the most excellent fruits and vegetables by simply layering ramiel wood chips on the earth. Ramiel are the chips made by tree cutting guys, they chip up limbs of trees under 6" and therefore there is about 70percent green, 30 percent brown, notrogen to carbon. This breaks down over time and fertalizes and brings great tilth to any soil naturally, just like in the woods. See for yourself and save all that unnecessary labor. And have much better nutrient dense foods and full of flavor and water too. Weeding becomes about non existant too and you wont hardly ever have to water. Watch and see for yourself guy.

  3. The wide brimmed hat is the best to use when you are out in the sun, except for the sombrero. The Mexican farmers and cattlemen used the sombrero, then cattlemen from the West adopted it. Being in the sun for hours can really take it out of you.

  4. Thank you for your video. My son in law is building a logistics business focused on over/ dimensional, over/ weight loads and a business that will never exceed 10 subcontractors with their own trucks and trailers. We will provide a service to the subcontractors in access to cheaper insurance, cheaper fuel, bookkeeping and dispatching. They make more money with their own equipment and we make a profit on the services they buy from us.

Now we need to figure out what to do with the abused land we have – 19 acres of which 12 are neglected pasture (the widow that owned the house and land just got too old to care for it). I hope to do something different based on another channel on YouTube – Swedish Homestead. He used rotational grazing starting out with rotational grazing of Scottish Highlander cows, then a few pigs to root and break up the meadow biscuits and the chickens to go after the insects. But I do not think he fertilizes since his focus is on meat.

Since my son drives a very big truck, he is not home every weekend so cattle is likely a better bet for him. You do such a good job of explaining what you do, I need to get him on your sight. BTW some of what you purchase can also be gotten from AMLeo.com near Columbus, Ohio.

  5. As your efforts continue you will also begin seeing earthworm populations and they in turn will help mix the richer soil with the less rich. I am in North Georgia (red GA clay). This method works. I have used it as well, chickens mulch and compost. Also, corrugated cardboard each season between rows covered with mulch increases weed and moisture control. It has worded really well for me and our garden plot soil has a substantially different profile than the rest of the property. Also, straw responds really well to nitrogen and water for composting.

  6. Josh
I think I made a mistake on buying soil from the basalt company
It’s soil from the washed big rocks

I noticed they are heavy soils now when trying to water the plant and my beetroots are growing slowly

    Any help or suggestions please

  7. Hi, I have a question to know how to calculate the amount of wood chips I need for the paths. We want to start a garden here in Germany and just would like to know how much wood chips you think you put per path and if you thing it will work to put it on top of grass over the winter to keep weed away for next season. It would be lovely if we can get some info from you cause your garden looks awesome!.

    Thanks a lot!

  8. Centuries ago, in south America, they turned areas of clay into what is referred to as Black Gold soil today using biochar. Biochar should be activated but that is not that bad to do either. There are many good youtube videos on the subject.

I appreciate your video very much.
