VPN. One of the more important little acronyms you need to know, right? But this is one of those things I’ve had a REALLY hard time talking to my family about. Or to try to explain what the best VPN is.

I know VPNs. Used them for years for work networking stuff. Now I’m finally using them just to keep my own stuff safer. But for as easy as they’ve gotten, they’re still a PITA, and tough for folks to wrap their heads around.

If you’ve got any brilliant ideas on how to make this easier for families, SING OUT!!!

  1. Ummmm
PureVPN was caught logging customer data for the FBI
IPVanish also collected logs on one of their users and provided the data to the FBI
HideMyAss provided logs to authorities for a hacking case
NordVPN supplied logs to authorities for a fraud investigation depite saying they keep no logs.
All VPN's would probably keep records to avoid litigation so be aware what they say and do is different.
Tor would probably give you better security than a VPN which are just glorified proxies.

  2. TO VPN or NOT TO VPN, that is the Question. Whether it is nobler in the mind to believe one "expert over an other "Expert," depends on who you ask and who you believe. I believe, "you pays your money or you takes your chance." Either way, I believe, your going to get ripped off.

  3. Most of these companies are super shady and you are giving them all of your data and internet traffic. look up “nordvpn Proxy Data Extraction Scheme” for example. One of the most popular vpn services basically running a botnet with your computer. Don’t fall for the FUD.

  4. I have VPN with Windscribe. I tag onto a New Zealand TV site to watch but I get blocked (vid-geo). It knows I’m overseas.
I then used a free VPN and was able to watch but the free VPN has low speed. I just used it to see if it got access or not.
    Any solutions?
If you or anybody can log into NZTV and watch with their vpn provider I would be happy on what they recommend. Hope you can help

  5. I'm sorry did that for my speakerphone the words and come out right I was trying to say I know you're not allowed to upload nor download but what are they talking about transmit?

  6. I've also been using ProtonVPN for a while, Phil, and I like it. Speeds are good and battery usage seems to be about what you would expect. As a ProtonMail user, I feel comfortable with this company and how they continually work to improve their products while being very clear on how they handle users' data.

  7. If your using vpn your an idiot giving all your info to who runs the vpn and there all ran by spies dam your dumb. Vpn only has one use piracy thats it and the government runs the vpns to catch and spy on u dumb asses

  8. Hey. Great video, thank you! Question; I have unlimited data on my phone from T-Mobile, so I only use that internet and not from someone els like public wifi or privite wifi. Do I still need to use VPN?
