Excellent.. These 42 minutes saved me hours of reading from Wikipedia pages and still get nothing about the history of the USA. DW Doc is an amazing channel. I would recommend this film to my friends of course.

Wait… I was expecting to see America as the whole continent from Alaska to Patagonia. The name "America" comes from the explorer "Americo Vespucio" who only had one or two stops at the Florida peninsula. America is a continent, not a country. The documentary should be titled : "The history of Europeans in the United States".
America has only European history. Native americans lost both their lives and history.

The vast amount of Europeans came after 1800s. It was mostly the English, Irish and small amounts of French that established, fought for and created the US republic on and before then. Search 13 Colonies and Upper/Lower Canada's!

This is mostly a fairy story. We weren't nearly this nice and it wasn't nearly this easy. An elderly citizen of the United States and a history buff.
The consequences of the natives are still felt to this day.

I don't like history at all but this Documentary was outstanding. Plus I was in Charleston just over a week ago not knowing its history at all until I got there. Absolutely an amazing place today. Incredibly beautiful.
