Europe has now become the epicentre of the pandemic, with more reported cases and deaths than the rest of the world combined, apart from China, according to the World Health Organization. Europe has MANY thousand more cases than the U.S. In the EU, you have virtually NO borders between countries – so the virus spread quickly and easily.

17. 'Travel ban'? Air traffic banned from Europe will funnel through Canada and Mexico now. So Canada and Mexico will have to screen/test/diagnose and isolate travelers instead of the USA. Passing the buck is more like it. It's just a delay tactic and a way to make other countries pay for what the US should be paying for. Canada and Mexico need follow suit with this ban thus forcing the US to deal with its own air travel issues. $1.5 Trillion taxpayer dollars to Wall Street but fooling dumb neighbors into dealing with travelers to and from Europe for free. Shame!

18. This reminds me why i never choose US as a place to go on holiday. What a terrible country, banning people from travel, not based on health risk but for political reasons. If people should be quarantined then this could just apply to everyone coming from europe. The EU was not even told of this before hand. Trump is one nasty person, and I understand why I hear people saying they dont want to go to the US to stay.

    Trump is not a very smart president nor does he listen to the experts or scientists that surround him! Trump did not take the W.H.O. test kits but instead had the CDC make faulty test kits.

I don't think the ban is really such a big deal to European countries, firstly there is really no reason for European travellers to visit the US at this time because musems, Disney World, many sporting events etc are closed or cancelled. The ban will therefore allow travellers to get a refund for the flights cancelled and possibly refunded for events that are cancelled. I don't see UK travellers getting refunded as their flights are not cancelled and they will arrive in US cities with nothing to do. Second reason is that most Europeans will probably want to stay at home to be with their families during this crisis. Many bookings were cancelled anyway. The ban does allow US citizens to travel to the US but those people returning home could potentially be infected.

35. While US is banning most of the Europe countries, is funny that many countries is going to ban US travellers since their confirmed cases already shoot up to more than 1,600.
