Someone's clearly been up to mischief in that machine. I doubt it's the client, though.
This video is one of the reasons why I love this channel. Thanks a lot Carey for sharing your investigation and troubleshooting of these kind of issues.
If this PC was working and then started having graphics issues, it's not hard to see why. Either the customer tried to do something and basically wrecked the machine or the shipper (from customer to you) mishandled and wrecked the machine. If I were EVGA, I would refuse to honor an RMA on that card on that basis.
Well done
Thank you for the great video!!! cause of your videos I was able to build my very first computer even tho I have excellent knowledge of computers I wanted to make sure I was doing everything correctly and steady!!!
Looks like the user abused the computer!
4:30 checked RAM was seated. Removed RAM at 7:00. Does not look that RAM was not seated do to customer or shipping.
Thanks for sending the link your the best, not a lot of mechanic that find a big windows bug like you
Cool Intro!
ive had customers mess with my setup and blame and act like they did nothing ..but when i open it i find someone was doing there handy work and wants to make it look like its my fault..its happend 5 or 6 times in 18 years.
I'm using preorder EVGA 670 FTW till now and I didn't have any problem with it. EVGA = Reliability.
I've watched this vid several times. I have an Ongoing problem with a very similar build!
Several tech experts ($400 cost), replaced PSU. Same problem; power up, some flashing lights on mobo, then Nada!
My tech experts have checked every component. They say; "it should work, but it Don't. " huh.
Cary, can I get Your help? Back in 2014 your vids got my hooked on doing my own pc build.
How do I contact you?
Oh, a Summary on the trouble shooting process at the end of this vid is lacking.
Would like to have seen a close-up of that warped video card. I can't see how it would get torqued quite like that in shipping. Makes me wonder what else the person was up to in there.
Another reason why I buy EVGA graphics cards.
I always think if there signs the customer opened the case the warranty void, but what happens most of the time customer open the case and try and fix it end up doing more damage and then sent it back to get it fixed for free. I wonder if I stripped my car engine down that the main dealer would fix it for free?
Carey emits a kool Mr. Rogers/Bob Ross vibe….🤓
I have a computer that freezes halfway threw a restart but off and on runs and starts just fine just when you click restart does it lock up???
Nice video man
Carey, maybe you should start putting 'Warranty void if removed' stickers on your builds.
I've had a 4×4 16Gb kit of DDR3 and they all worked except one stick. I tried it by itself and it works. If I put it in a different slot with all 4 sticks it worked. Really strange issue.
uh-oh I smell sabotage with those magnets!
I enjoyed the full live version of this sometime ago. Obviously the machine was given to a 10-year old to play with. Needed torx screws welded on the case after fixing !!
This is the kinda stuff that keeps Mr. C in business.
Great 40 mins Carey, thanks for that. But how about the important stuff. How is the dog after its dental visit to the vet? We need to know.
Im 50 seconds in and im excited to watch the rest of the video already because this is my problem as well!!
Lovely intro Linda!
Hey Carey, you should get a well lit studio or workroom for your channel. Shooting it like this in the kitchen aint good enough for your otherwise quality show.
Great video!
Holy Snickers! It seems like every time I check-in I'm greeted with a new, outstanding intro. Well done, sir! 👍👍
A fabulous insight into diagnosing a PC without making assumptions with each issue you find. A real education. Thank you Carey. Wonderful editing Linda, a lot of hard and careful work went into this one. Maximum credit. Also, have you seen that Hardware Canucks recently reviewed a Scythe cooler? They were mightily impressed with it's performance just like yourself. It's refreshing to see another channel not bound to the stereotypical norms of big name hardware reviews. My summary – be like Carey.
Another good edited lesson on troubleshooting from a master tech. Linda is doing a great job! Thanks so much have learned a lot and putting it all into practice. Made a USB recovery disc today and Win media install last night. So many good tools. 🙂
Excellent sir well done chap
Good video as always Carey
Another awesome video, thanks for sharing…
Great video! I love watching these computer repairs certainly learn alot from them.
Did you ever find out why he placed the 5 magnets in the case?
