I was born n raised in California but my parents are from Matagalpa and Managua, my brother & I constantly heard war stories about my uncle (dad's older brother) who was a Captain in Somoza's National Guard specifically the EEBI, according to my dad he killed dozens of Sandinista terrorists. He actually fled on an airplane in an airport-base in Managua literally minutes before the Sandinistas seized the port, had he been caught the Sandinistas would've executed him on the spot as officers in the National Guard were systematically executed by those assholes. He was contacted in the US by old National Guard comrades and was told that the Sandinistas had killed most of the remaining Lieutenants, Captains etc anybody who was an officer was simply either killed or imprisoned without trial. I dont know how many Sandinista terrorists my uncle killed but what I do know is he alone had more honor, more integrity and MUCH more courage than all Sandinistas combined.

My dad's family is so big and he hasn't really seen his family properly since the late 70s and I had just come across the name Steadman, and I recognised it but I didn't know why… turns out he was my Dad's cousin.
