14. Yes, I had a friend who built his garden, had it growing nicely , then found out the wood was untreated.

    Go one step further and put on a apron of plastic sheet around the inside of the planks starting from the on the top edge over the inside and down to the bottom and under the bottom edge also to that the soil will not touch the wood and rotten it. Finish off the tope edge with a 1" of board to make it look clean and not have the soil tug on it and rip the plastic. Buy numbers at the hardware store and place them on each box so you can id the box on planting log of what is planted each time for reference.

17. Stupidest video ever. I know how to cut timber. I want to know about drainage and soil types and conditioning soil for vegetables. Not how to screw together timber.

18. I have a farm and cannot stress enough the value of good soil. It doesn't just "happen". For raised beds. 1/3 top soil, 1/3 sand, 1/3 rotting leaves or compost.  THEN compost  cooking scraps (peels, veggies, etc) all winter and spring.  (I gather in buckets on the back porch and empty every two or three days – we cook a lot,)  I also add layers of leaves and ashes from the corn bonfire. Your only problem may be that the soil is TOO strong, especially if you live in the South and have bugs year round. 

19. I don't like this way. I guess is good for some but for me it's the roots of trees is why I want raised. If I was to dig down what is the point in a box?
