  1. People are so sensitive now a days it’s ridiculous.. The tittle is MISS America not MRS America. There are pageants for married women and women with kids that give out scholarships. You are not a MISS if you are married

  3. Miss Thailand Universe answered her interview question very diplomatically and did not make the top 3 when she was asked to choose security or privacy in everyday life. At least Miss America, Camille Schrier, speaks her mind and take a stand on ONE side, which shows her leadership and ability to make the choice and won the Miss America Crown, even if everyone is appalled by her opinion…

  5. What the heck did I watch last night? I like American Idol as much as the next person, but I don't tune into Miss America to watch a game show. What I watched last night felt more as if "LiinkedIn" decided to create a contest based on resumes and professional passion. The new winner may state that 'she likes to wear a ballgown' but there was no respect given to a gown. The females might as well as have been wearing ripped jeans & hoodies during that segment. To address what Miss America is attempting to address: Yes, I agree. The world is a changing place. But it always has been, as your own video retrospective highlighted. Miss America has survived World Wars, major social changes even before there was a "social network". My personal opinion is that the problems Miss America has been recently facing has stemmed more from 'internal' dis-organization: their male director being fired for extremely inappropriate behavior, the calamity of their most recent director who even began preventing U.S. states from being able to participate. It seems to me that the changes that needed to be done were more from within, starting at the top, than to create an entirely new concept of "pageant" being presented to the country. Miss America has never been about "beauty", even though so many who have walked across its stage have been truly beautiful, both inside and out. It's been equally about 'brains'. Which has been wonderful. But it has always been a 'pageant', not a Simon Cowell inspired game show contest. What I'm seeing reminds of Meghan Markle stating, foolishly, that she is by herself personally single-handedly revolutionizing the royal family. There is a time for 'updating' but not at the expense of everything the pageant stood for. One shouldn't just throw out history. Mao Tse Tung saw a slow sleepy China and decided to 'revolutionize' it – by destroying all of its heritage. He blew up and tore down ancient temples and wonderful old architecture. China is now a country of 'modern' box shaped factories that is creating air pollution that is taking five years off the lives of its citizens and killing the rest of us. China's factories are filled with workers who throw themselves out the windows to commit suicide rather than work one more minute on another smart phone for us to buy at our local store. I would humbly suggest that Miss America go back to their conference room, make some coffee, review their history in finer detail, respect what made it great 'through the years', and build upon that the finest pageant the world has ever seen. I wish Miss America the very best. #missamerica #missamerica2020

  7. Yes that was appalling to say that married women or mothers can’t be miss america. Miss America is a college scholarship program. These women who get to compete are traditional age college students who probably have little to no disadvantages compared to thousands of non traditional age students who can’t go to school because of a lack of access and funding. Why not give those women a chance to earn scholarships to go to school and also empower themselves women can do it all. I thought this organization was to empower women. How hypocritical!!!
