به نظر می رسد چیزی از یک فیلم علمی تخیلی است: جمعیت جدید خرچنگ که کاملاً از کلون های زنانه تولید مثل غیر جنسی است. اما آیا این یک گونه جدید است؟

Eat them…eat them all! Service guarantees citizenship.
This can be a solution for world hunger. If they multiply fo fast, just put the in rivers of poor countries. Cheap source of protein for many hungry people. Who cares about local aquatic species. Human survival is more important.
That has got to be my Favorite episode..😁😁
Crayfish kill blood sucking eels. Its working.
Being in the hobby, having multiple tanks around the house the marmokreb has been a good source of live feed for many of my fish. So if putting them to death may I recommend doing in this fashion. I could imagine how big bass can get if introduced to a healthy dose of protein. Just kidding.
A recipe called Spicy Crayfish is the solution.
I have one of these in my tanks
My local store can buy them. Gonna order one in and use its babies as feeders for my puffers.
I see people sell these online but I feel like that opens up too much risk to the environment if the wrong person orders them.
Solution for hunger?
One of the funniest scishow videos!
Its like The Thing, minus the human murder part.
If you see them in the store, just buy them all, and after you pay for them announce you'll enjoy your new dinner.
Ofc it happened in Germany.. where else would something out of a horror movie come from
Ghengis Khan would be proud.
time for a massive worldwide crayfish fry?
You ain't old Hank, I am. I'll be 61 tomorrow. I still remember "Care 54 Where are You?" and "My mother the car" when they were on television the first time.
And then KILL IT!!! right there in the store…dont do that! LOL
What about natural predators, or lack thereof?
All female clones!!! A feminist wet dream…
i wonder if any pregnant teen has tried giveing an excuse similer to this to there parents lol
Why couldn't George do this?? MAKE A VIDEO EXPLAINING LOL
I fail to see how parthogenisis alone provides an ecological niche denied to native crayfish species. I say turn them loose and see how they adjust to a variety of environments.
Why are we not farming them?
1 mutation created all of them and another mutation will kill all of them. All it takes is a virus or a bacteria mutating just right and since they all have same immune system they will all die out just as fast as they colonized their new territories.
Sounds like its time for a crawfish boil yall!!!
Hank told me to do it…
Don't you worry about, just export them to china, we ate them faster then they could breed.
I work at Prince of Songkla University-Phuket in Thailand. My Research Assistant's boyfriend brought one into the lab 2y ago. Took me a while to work out what it was. I now have hundreds of them. They only live for a few months and start breeding at about 3 cm long. Do not know what to do with them. Red Oscars do like to eat them.
They are in petshops all over Phuket.
We should take it’s DNA, steal it’s powers and clone our selves
I think they used this as the basis for an episode of House.
Does it taste good? I mean, it sounds like Madagascar at least has developed a taste for them. If they are tasty, this problem could be a good thing for sustainable fishing, because it'd be very difficult to overfish these buggers, and you can easily make hatcheries anywhere in the world.
Neat shirt, where could I get one?
Now to go buy lots of frickin lasers to stick on the heads of my upcoming crayfish corp >.>
Is it an invasive species or just evolution? We only call it invasive cause it goes against our wants and desires which seems a little strange to me
Endless crayfish buffet? SIGN ME UP!!!
It reminds me of that all-female species of lizards that reproduce parthogenically. It's really cool how there are species of animals that pop up now and then that are all asexually reproducing clones, and how successful they can be even without the advantage of genetic diversity.
Is it delicious? Oh, I guess it is.
i've ate about a kilo of these this summer, catched them myself by converting a big PVC pipe (about 40cm in diameter) and added some stuff to make it work like a trap.
You can find some videos on how to make one with all kinds of materials but that was what i had laying around.
Altough im not sure if they are healthy for you because of all the water polution.
They are super tasty though
can they be made into tempuras?
So there are absolutely no mutations? Mitosis in cells can involve mutations, you’d think there’d be slight mutations in parthenogenesis populations too, right?
I’m gonna buy some and raise them for food! Crawfish are dank.
Jesus Christ, reproduction without sex!
