  17. Some of the examples of guys helping out females are encroaching simp territory though, because it's over the top nice. I mean, a $200 dinner? That doesn't come without expectations. And it's absolutely not in the domain of general decency either.

I think my problem with this whole Simp meme is that, in one hand, yes, you have the people who just want to make fun of men who degrade themselves in a desperate attempt to win a woman's affection. But on the other hand, you have the people who seem to genuinely not think very highly of woman, and think treating them with any shred of decency makes you an idiot. I mean, just take the image at 8:54 as an example. Apparently having a real conversation with the opposite gender means you're being ripped off.
    And the think is, since everyone is using the same terminology, people from the second group can kinda blend in with people from the first group, and be validated hiding behind the veneer of a joke.
    But I guess I'm just taking things too seriously, eh?

    But in all honesty I'm fairly certain most of the usage of this word comes from the fact that people tend to believe that a lot of unsolicited nice acts are really attempts to garner romantic affection and sexual opportunity.

    Really the most obvious form of simps nowadays are dudes who shell out cash to egirls for their attention.
