  1. You dont need one.
    VPN's are a waste nothing is safe period. It doesn't protect you any more than using a proxy and some personal security. For example:
    PureVPN was caught logging customer data for the FBI
    IPVanish also collected logs on one of their users and provided the data to the FBI
    HideMyAss provided logs to authorities for a hacking case
    NordVPN supplied logs to authorities for a fraud investigation despite saying they keep no logs.
    All VPN's would probably keep records to avoid litigation so be aware what they say and do is different. It is their interest to protect themselves legally by keeping records so beware. Honestly its better to use Tor for more security than a VPN.

  2. Hi i am trying from last 5 days to connect VPN with my server but on same network it works when I change my client network it do not work and stuck on WAN Miniport i have seen all tutorials but no progress. Final thing that is my router i think my modem do not have PPTP port option neither SSTP port. Can it cause problem? Because it’s normal home modem.

  3. Eli, I was directed to you for assistance troubleshooting my IPSEC VPN. Is this something you can assist me with?
    If i may I will provide a brief description of the issue I am running into.

    I am using Debian 9 as my routers between two sites. One router is a full Debian 9 OS and the other is a Raspberry Pi 4. The Strongswan IPSEC tunnel is installed and setup on both. The connection is up and running, but I cannot get traffic to pass between them.

    On both sides ipsec status shows (1 up, 0 connecting). The private subnet are listed on either end of the network as well as all relevant connection information.
    SiteB-to-SiteA{3}: 10.5x.2x.0/26 === 10.1x.2x.0/27
    SiteA-to-SiteB{5}: 10.1x.2x.0/27 === 10.5x.2x.0/26

    SIDE A: ip route show table 220 shows 10.5x.2x.0/26 via 73.x.x.1 dev enp1s0 proto static src 10.1x.2x.1
    SIDE B: ip route show table 220 show 10.1x.2x.0/27 via 67.x.x.1 dev eth0 proto static src 10.5x.2x.1

    SIDE A: Masquerade If source is 10.1x.2x.0/27 and destination is 10.5x2x.0/26
    SIDE A: Masquerade If output interface is enp1s0

    SIDE B: Masquerade If source is 10.5x.2x.0/26 and destination is 10.1x.2x.0/27
    SIDE B: Masquerade If output interface is eth0

    I also enabled on both Side A and Side B
    net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1
    net.ipv4.conf.all.accept_recirect = 0
    net.ipv4.conf.all.send_recirect = 0

    The connection is up and every thing looks good, but I cannot ping across the IPSEC VPN.
    Can You or Anyone viewing this request please HELP.

  4. Eli, you are awesome, man! I love how you explain these networking concepts. It is easy to understand even for people like me, with no technical studies. Keep up the good work! Cheers
