6. Every Bolt extraction is different, I have yet to see one that I could not get out. Relieving the tension on the shank is key. I run into this same problem with Hydraulic Cylinder Glands. Sometimes the answer is to drill repeatedly to relieve the tension. If You choose to drill the most Important part of the process is finding and center punching the exact center! This cannot be over stressed. If You use heat then use it only momentarily as the heat is transferred quickly and will return to the same or even worse gall the threads….. The bottom line is that if You choose to be a tech then You will run into broken bolts. I spent one Christmas day bolting on a new windshield on an MH-60 Sikorsky (Black Hawk) out of about 200 screws over 90 of the heads snapped off. She had to fly the next day and that was a very long night….Hooah Black Knights!

16. I've never seen a bolt break off like that.. Usually they break at the surface, or out above, not below in the threads.

26. I have gotten some severe hard ones out with torx bits. I was putting a lot of force on a two foot breaker bar. Still had to go back and forth, oiling, letting cool, but I got it.
