  1. Strong leadership? well there was Saddam and then you guys decided to hang him and leave a massive gap… so don't complain about "proxy wars" when you cant admit your own MASSIVE interference in the region…

  2. It is a very valid question to ask: what has Britain got to do with the middle east? They don't need you and don't want you to be there! Now, out of Europe, the English are looking for another source of money to wage their lazy lifestyle! English go home, middle east does not need you!

  3. Really BBC?!
This is only an excerpt with a misleading title from the BBC.
Why don't you publish any news from Theresa May's trip to GCC Persian Gulf countries to sell them billion of arms?
You only distort people's opinion by constructing an untrue news with a shiny title because many criticised Theresa May's arm deal with those countries.

  4. Why the hell does the media only attack politicians when they make a decent point… There are 1000 things you could go after Boris Johnson for, this is not one of them.

  5. Saudi Arabia's proxy war on Yemen is disgraceful to the human beings..

we should stand for civilians who have been awfully killed by those two murderous countries (Saudi + Iran)

  6. Why condemn when he is telling the truth, 9/11, where did the terrorists come from, who funded ISIS through the back door, when will we admit Saudi Arabia is a threat to modern democracy, all they want is money, hell when you send your wifes to Harods you must have some cash in reserve to pay her bills. Good for him in telling the truth.

  7. If only the Western thirst for Oil reserves had not invaded the Middle East these countries might not have turned into a wilderness.
Iran had a democratically elected president in 1953 but his leadership was overthrown by the CIA and the British because president Mossadeq wanted to nationalize Iran's Oil industry.
These scenarios have been played out in different countries in the Middle East and North Africa with the current radicalization and mass refugee migration as a result.
All the while the West portrays Saudi Arabia as an ally because of the access to Oil while it actually is one of the most barbaric and oppressive regimes in the world which beheads its citizens for disagreeing with their perverted brand of Islamic fascism.
This is another reason why we have to make the transfer from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources.

  8. Shame on you BBC, as always, never showing the dark side of Iran and always finding the smallest mistakes in Saudi Arabia and make them a huge global issue…he just said proxy war are from both sides, why do you not mention Iran in the title…shame.

  9. I hope Boris Johnson can suggest to Saudi Arabia that they allow people in neighbouring countries to develop political parties after their long running attempt to destroy Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party?

  10. Breath of fresh air with the fragrant scent of lilies of the valley. New world is here people, wake up and smell the roses. Same old, same old got us Brexit, Donald Trump, Quitaly, France, Germany next year, blabla two years from now, and blablabla 3 years from now…

  11. Well Boris is a bit of a porker face with narrow eyes , an opportunist on anybody's ground BUT, he is actually telling the (hidden) truth. The last guy do do so in the Cons party was David Mellor  on the West Bank. People in general are so naive – politics are not about the truth, it is about the version that will be swallowed by the most of the mass electorate who know no better. For once he has come out with something different from the background string pullers of the Cons Party. Don't quite know what he is aiming at career wise but for once, he cannot be faulted for the logic. It is true.

  12. Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party successfully bridged the gap but delusional Tony Blair "roadmap" set out to destroy Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party & give Clerics absolute rule, by claiming Iraq's Saddam Hussein Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party was disqualified from being president because he was a Sunni Muslim in a country with a majority Shia Muslims and Syria's Bashar Assad Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party being Shia Muslim in a country with a larger number of Sunni Muslims therefore also disqualified from being president! Obviously a religion is not a political party and we can see the blatant hypocrisy which is comparable to reinstating the Spanish Inquisition to rule Spain if ever Spain has a non Catholic president in a majority Catholic country

  13. Thanks you Boris for saying the truth someone has to tell these people enough is enough. I have been saying this all along, now you have stupid journalists trying to portray him so bad.we don't trust the press anymore instead you support him you are blaming him for destroying trade between UK and and Saudi Arabia. we love this boris

  14. ooo nooo dont say anything bad about the saudis!….he said nothing wrong, saudi's funded islamic state ffs. Its sad that the government kisses thier arse, why? because they have oil. Saudi arabia can do anything/get away with anything.
