    whenever i do this now, instead of not being able to connect to the proxy server, i can't connect to the internet! so no matter what, i have no access to ANY website…
    do you know what caused this?

I have a solution but this is for the dial up only Go to the settings in Chrome  Go to Advanced Settings Scroll down to Network Section and click on ''Change proxy settings A window will came with the name ''Internet Properties on the dial up and virtual private network settings right side select settings and the uncheck Use a proxy server for your for this connection

    1) run google chrome as ADMINISTRATOR
    2) go to top right corner that has 3 bars, click it
    3) go to SETTINGS
    4) go at the bottom and click SHOW ADVANCE SETTINGS
    5) click LAN SETTINGS
    6) untick all the boxes
    7) click OK
    8) click OK again
    9) YOU ARE READY
