Most of the nodes are run by governments these days and you can't watch video or VoIP, but if Tor got to the stage where you could webcam VoIP and watch videos then it will take over VPN'S but I would never trust a Node like I use to now. but now so many site block both vpn and tor now, even torrent site are blocking vpn's because of attacks so both will be useless in there own ways. the resin Tor has now turned into a hell hole and is so nasty in so many ways is because that's the place governments do business.

25. Tor alone or Tails and even Whonix offers better protection. I use to surf with just Tor alone. But after discovering Tails. I don't mind the three or more hops, and since I use Linux on a second machine, I will switch this machine to Whonix just for internet purpose or have it in dual boot with my Ubuntu system.

37. I rather use a SSH tunnel with 3 factor Auth and a one time password, hell even OpenNic with Mosh over SSH for secure tunnel to pivot … but then again TOR nodes are alright DNS changer thanks to the tools in Linux Kadachi for anonymity.
