17. You need atleast 60% alcohol for it to be an effective disinfectant. If it was 70% most hand sanitizers would be obsolete cus I’ve only seen between 61-65% alcohol

24. You can make a homemade brush cleaner with a plastic folder (you cut it down to size) and use some hot glue to make some little bumps. I tried it and it genuinely works and I’ve been using it ever since!

25. This is so much more complex than how I clean my brushes, and I feel like the soap jar would collect bacteria. I use dish washing soap and a handheld makeup brush scrubber tool, that works quickly and thoroughly.

27. Dude I legit just did this the other day with black soap. Apparently it’s amazing for cleaning your brushes & beauty blenders. so far its phenomenal !!! & apparently the black soap is a close dupe to the solid beauty blender soap! 🧼 💄

30. My grandpa used to have a little mug of soap like that with a makeup brush that he would lather us and use as shaving cream 😂

31. FOR DIY BRUSH EXFOLIATOR (PINK THING)- I use a textured silicone oven mitt. Literally the same thing as beauty blender one or I think sigma has one too. You can get actual mitts or just the square ones & can cut them to fit whatever you want. I just have a square green one with 2 different textured sides. Simple & cheap. Also wonderful because its food grade silicone so a lot more sanitary then hot glue options & since it’s all one piece of silicone material, it won’t fall apart like the diy hot glue version does over time.

    Here are just a few options I found quickly on amazon. Usually called silicone trivets, jar opening grippers, etc etc. tons of options as far as sizes, colors, shapes, textures. Even ones with heart shaped raised patterns.

40. when i worked at lush we would experiment with soap when we were bored. we would try to turn solid soap into a gel by boiling it, turns out shower jelly makes the best melted lush soap

46. First of all; you don't have to shave the soap straight into the jar xD You could shave it onto the table first. Secondly – if you really wanted to shave it straight into the jar, it would be easier to lay the sword flat onto the jar top 😉

    Don't get me started on making soap from soap in the first place xD Plus I would've just melted it an poured it into the jar 😛
