Good video with lots of good information. Maybe start with the diagram and a the overall objective of the project before showing the equipment and wire layout in the lab. Had a hard time following along. Thanks.
Great setup. I just finished installing everything at the second location today. It was pretty much plug and play with all the work you guys did setting everything up.
I'm doing a similar rip & replace with my company's move next month. We have 3 locations but a new HQ building so we'll have a temp of 4 locations. I'm pulling out EoL ASA's and using our brand new XG-7100 HAs for old HQ & new HQ and 2x SG-5100 for the 2 remote manufacturing sites.
Hi Tom,
thanks for the content you provide. Do I see that correctly that you are still using AP AC Pros for new installations? I know they work good, but are you not worried about UBNT sending them EOL soon since they already announced the same for the In-Wall Pros?
Just asking since the NanoHDs are basically the same price, maybe not as mature though, but will definitely be supported for longer from now.
Why don’t you use USG or USG Pro as a router and for VPN (IPSEC or auto)?
Why did you use an ipsec vpn instead of openvpn??
I know you can find out anyone's public ip. But I thought it's not safe to show it
Just curious on why you picked the AC Pros in this case vs say the nanoHD. Presumably for better 2.4Ghz since their price has effectively become the same?
I like your videos really helpful.
Can you review on Ufiber olt system and implement it in your system.
And stay safe
Could you use that array to warm your lunch. lol.
Hi Lawrence, any chance to do a vid on video conferencing. Seems to be products in the market that are not open source that may not be secure and totally private. If you have done one previously maybe a reminder and update would be great. Thanks. Love your shows.
Hi, thanks for the video. Can you please do a video on IPv6 and if your using, why your not using it. And when using it what your advice and experience has given you when deploying it on projects like this. THANKS.
For the UniFi, we have cloud key for a client at their main location and site to site vpn from main location to multiple remote locations. Remote locations all have their own UniFi APs, which all connect to the main office Cloud key. Works well!
You don't have to use the set-inform manually. You can hand out the controller address via DHCP.
Love your videos Tom, Hope your keeping well with the COVID-19 pandemic
Hi, im from Brazil.
I have one question: why use PfSense instead Fortinet (for example) ?
Here when we talk about PfSense, most the it guys look with bad eyes, calling this is an home lab only, not an enterprise level.
In our company, we have 3 sites across the country and each one use fortinet firewalls (as a service) to do: IDS/IPS, Firewall, Proxy and VPN Tunnels to our private Datacenter and between each one.
When the PfSense will be an better solution than Fortinet?
Nice. Saludos desde Perú.
Great prep work! Just how i would do it !
Does the site-to-site VPN work with only one public IP address? One box would have public IP and the second box would be behind ISP's NAT. Thank you.
@Lawrence Systems / PC Pickup 203.0.113.0/24, 198.51.100.0/24 and 192.0.2.0/24 are public and reserved for documentation/examples…so you don't need to throw in other people's IPs in examples
Thank you for your video's.
Oh, could you share the stencils used to make the diagram please?
So you handling those with no gloves or masks and sending them to someone else? I how you disinfect all before shipping. This shit is serious.
before anybody looks up the WAN ip's they are most likely not the client ones and point to Microsoft and the MIT
Really Glad to have your videos during this quarantine. Thanks Tom!
Thanks Tom! Great video!
