27. This kind of music works like emotional signs, it’s there to tell you how to feel about what you’re watching. It’s not trying to tell a story, because normally this music goes with a video or voiceover. You could say it has no soul, in the sense it doesn’t want to say anything, it just wants to tell you how to feel about what you’re being shown.

32. I've just recently started learning and making music. A lot of these progressions/tricks seem simple and intuitive, and are what I've been doing in my music. How do I avoid sounding inhuman and emotionless? Is it sort of a necessary evil to get through this simplicity?

34. I worked somewhere that would play music almost identical to 7:15 on a loop before big campus meetings. You had to be there 15-20 minutes before each meeting. Spot on, man. I nearly started twitching.

35. Unfortunately there is insufficient music education for kids in most countries, so later most grown-ups tend to like/live with something simple and repetitive.
