These scammers never give up. Share this with your friends and family to get the message out.
I know I have viruses in one computer.I just only use it without any personal information. I every once in a while will take out the harddrive, do a full format and reinstall it. It will probably take about two hours to do it but I have fun erasing the harddrive and putting windows in it again.
I know it's a script command that blocks the web browser. I just use Task Manager to close the browser and that's it. Start the browser again.
Best way to avoid any virus? scrap crappy microsoft and use the far superior Linux systems, problem solved.
GNU/Linux. Problem solved for good.
Use Linux. Trouble solved.
My son had this pop up on his laptop, I couldn’t shut the window even with task manager. So I did a forced shutdown rebooted and as soon as I started internet explorer it popped back up. Now the bad part. I tried to reinstall Windows 10 back on it but it kept on saying hard drive had bad sectors and could not be read/write. After trying for ages to format the drive( wouldn’t format bad sectors). 750gb. I ended up buying a new drive and then reinstalled everything again. So far touch wood it’s not happened again. Great video as always
Hi Brian in the free computer classes I'm a volunteer tutor at we already teach security but this is a different thing so if you don't mind I'll be showing your video to the next class tomorrow. Cheers for your work and expertise.
I'm using a pop-up blocker on my edge beta version and I never see any of those scams, and don't use malware bytes, it is rubbish
Just ignore it turm the fucking thing off and start again? Works a treat,,,,
I got one of these last week.
these scammers also hate people who waste their time. they also really hate those who use linux, aka the fake os's that are nothing better then malware according to the scammers
i got a pop up on computer other day saying my computer was locked or some crap like that,i instantly closed the browser, restarted computer and was fine
One undeniable fact is that Microsoft would never have you call a live tech support person because Microsoft doesn't spend any money on actual tech support.
Used Malwarebytes since it was invented along with other scans I dont rely on anything automatic. Mondays are scan day ,every week or if I notice a difference in how things work. With 35 years on computers I know when its not right. We dont get viruses. We have 6 desktops 2 laptops, 2 tablets and 2 phones. all are protected, all for 2 people
The Telcos COULD and CAN do something about this.
If we had decent politicians that said they will sort this out, along with all the other crime, here in the UK, they'd get my vote.
But instead, they all want to talk about letting blokes in girls toilets and making it a hate crime to complain.
Tragic.
the problem aint that it is a scam problem is people who dont know how to use a computer its like when you put a teenager behind the steering wheel of a car for the first time they have NO clue the more they do it more they learn same with computers but the more you learn about computers the more you realize it is WINDOWS that is the problem WINDOWSis a big pile of steaming CRAP
If running Google Chrome, you should also get the AdBlock Plus for Chrome. It stops many ads from popping up and also seems to stop many of these scam popups. It will stop many of the ads that pop up here in YouTube during the videos too.
Only stupid people install Windows on a hard disk! Those who run Windows in a virtual environment under Linux, Unix etc. don't have any problems and if something goes wrong one can delete the Virtual Hard Disk and the virus attack haunt is gone.
These videos make me realize how much I love my Linux Mint computer.
These scammers are still calling my phone and try to trick me to go to my pc and follow their directions! lol! I ask them to go to hell!
I've been saying this since the mid 90's
First time computer users should be licensed before being allowed to buy/use one
Don't get me wrong, I've made a few from these morons but still…
Guy at work fell for the "free virus scan", with the expected result. We fixed it for him and gave him advice but after the third time we sent him to a shop to get it sorted. When he got the bill, he didn't do it again. There are some people who should not be left alone with a computer.
I ignore those things. I've even gotten this things pop up on my phone trying to say that I've been infected and I don't click on them I just delete them stop the scam
Good video nice one dude
You know key to these is not to let them dig in. Soon I see it start, I unplug my PC(you can manually shut it down also but cutting off my power bar is quicker), wait second and start it back up.
If you need to just close that one window, try tapping on your esc key repeatedly. this can stop the page from reloading prompts that stop you from closing that page. Killing the browser process will definitely work but will cancel any downloads you have
10 years ago, I was working for a company which used an incredibly inept antivirus which wouldn't load updates on its computers. The computer in my office caught 2 viruses, one which prevented the computer booting up and the other which posted a message saying "your computer is infected. We can supply an antivirus to get it working again. Give us your bank card number". The "IT specialist" (the boss's son who was too stupid to find work elsewhere) told me to download a free antivirus onto a computer which wouldn't boot up. He couldn't understand the problem, so I gave up and connected the hard disk to my own computer as an external disk. My antivirus wiped out the viruses but there were no more photos or email contacts on the disk.
This is good information
Unfortunately, it won't be here for long due to coppa
Nice one mate – good tips 👍
Thanks I can ddos this site offline now hehe.
Yeah I had a "microsoft" support guy ring me one day. He told me my computer was doing something bad, and that he needed to fix it for me. I told him I don't run windows, I run Linux. He hung up. Damn, I was going to have some fun with this feral
The sad thing is that the Police do nothing about this fraud but spend £Millions on setting up Internet Hate Crime Offices all over the country for a load of bollocks.
Yes, Jim Bowning does a good job !! its the system hijackers that are the worst … #wannacry ect .. good video anyway as per
I hit the power button and all is well.
No scam ever dies … It is the ultimate in recycling.
It's because of things like this that when I got my computers, I right away went to the manufacture and ordered myself the factory operating system for each of my computers so if something did happen and the recovery partition got corrupted. Because quite often the recovery partition on the hard drive gets corrupted as well and you get errors when trying to factory reset you PC using the partition. I order the factory reset on external media so I can do a clean install of the operating system. It usually comes on either a flash drive or disc. My recovery software for my HP computer came on a flash drive. The recovery software for my Toshiba laptop came on 4 DVD discs. I do strongly recommend getting your recovery software on external media. If you have an old computer, you might not be able to get it though. That's why I always suggest ordering it right away after you bought your computer. Most of the time these days, external media doesn't come with the computer and is usually in a partition on your hard drive. You usually have to pay for it to get a copy. But it can be a savior if the unthinkable ever happens so you don't have to turn around and pay someone to fix your computer. Plus that recovery software really comes in handy if the hard drive fails because then you can replace the hard drive yourself and then reinstall the operating system on your computer. And since I have the recovery software, every couple of years or so, I like to do a fresh install because it helps to wipe everything out and start over because even with the best malware and virus protection, things can still get through and can slow things down. Doing a clean install is the only way to make sure everything is wiped out. Yes it can be a pain having to reinstall everything including the Windows updates. But it's worth it if it means preventing someone from getting to me or my stuff. But then there isn't much to get because I always keep my data on external media. My C drive only has my programs and operating system on it.
scammers pretending to be scammers scamming the scammers?
This is really old scams practiced by the Hindus. Search for Indians scammers on Youtube and you will laughing.
As long as people call and pay the scammers will keep doing it.
all the dislikes from scambaiters on youtube
Can you please make a video on how to disable the photos Auto rotation in windows 10. I would like to see the original rotation of photos when i open photos in windows 10. If you google that you will see alot of people with the same issues. Thank You
Step 1: Use almost any tablet or phone, rather than a legacy device like a PC.
Step 2: Continue surfing as usual, knowing you’re not impacted, assuming you even see such a message in the first place.
these wankers can lay down and die in a dark corner somewhere ,
and let someone else take over …
haven't had this many problems in the years before windows 10 came out ,
and i enjoyed installing a fresh windows now and then … not anymore … what a FREAKIN hassle !
you're busy for hours on end installing everything you need and getting rid of junk microsoft put in there just to piss everybody off
ah and the latest edition to the horrible experience that is windows 10 , bought myself a new motherboard …. : what does this mean ?
that i now can buy a KEY AGAIN from microsoft because the key and the motherboard are WELDED together by microsft …
do i need another motherboard next year … , you can buy a KEY AGAIN , and again , and again …
is this how they do business ? just keep stealing money from people until they give up … ?
FUCKING WANKERS !!!
The biggest scam is using Windows…..
And what do you know they put a scam advert on this video.
What I'd like to understand is exactly how this scam bypasses the anti-popup and anti-malware I've installed in my browsers. And how they completely lock up the keyboard and the browser such that usually you can do nothing to get rid of the scam popup except kill the browser.
I've found that Firefox is the most vulnerable; Chrome is better; Avast Secure Browser blocks the scam altogether.
I run a full backup once a week and incremental backups daily. I also have another bootable hard drive with Acronis True Image to run restore on my main hard drive.
Just in case of massive failure or infection that can't be removed.
Thanks for the info. I got one of those msgs after using the debit card online transaction. I didn't call the number. Can this msg infect the computer, or do they wait for you to call?
Gee, this is nother new. This scam has been around for a long time. I actually call them sometime and say bad things about their mother. CLUE! If you hear a lot of voices in the background you know it's a scam grinding mill.
