How could we defend Earth against an alien Invasion? Do we even stand a chance?
Could the United States, Russia and China work together to protect us? What are these aliens even capable of doing, especially if they have already traveled most likely at a light speed. I think the defense strategy is pretty detailed.
But what about a different scenario? What kind of allien encounter with human race would you like to experience? Could it be in a positive way – knowledge, experience exchange?
I think that the most precious thing here on earth is inteligent life. This is as far as we have seen the most rare thing in the universe, minerals here are infinitesimal compared with most celestial bodies in the galaxy ¿why bother wasting energy on a war here?.
Two Reasons: 1) enslave us for our inmense potential as workers and inventors
2) Destroy us before we become to advance to be dealt without issue
And if you think about it, the best way to enslave us would be being hidden from public, is the best way to keep control because nobody would rebel against you, besides, we may be usefull to made alternative tecnological advances for them now and in the future.
The US government would probably befriend the aliens and plan on killing us all, or at least most of us
Its like how do we defeat full scale US military with couple of steak knives and hunting bow
We will ask the people that we see on terrible quality security cameras with super powers to help fight them
What if they teleport directly into the earth's atmosphere using some kind of warmhole portal which, let's say they can create at will to accelerate space travel and in this case to hit us when we have our guards down

I think aliens will watch this and decided to make an alternative plan, one that is unexpected like the Trojan Horse.
But what if the aliens are a massive empire. Which have almost unlimited resources. And will not stop until every last of us drops. No matter how cassualty rate may differ. Like the warhammers Imperium of man. Or the aliens are a massive in number, feral, predatory or Insectoid race. Who have no concept of economic costs or supply lines, or numbers. Due to their extremely fast breeding capabilities. They just want to devour. Like locusts. Or specifically, like the tyranids in warhammer. What would we do?? I think we are doomed.
