Dude, forget this workout. I can just see my back give out on me no matter how strict I perform.
It was kind of odd looking, like you really abrutly adjusted your back during the lift but looked much smoother going down. Looked like it coule have been painful, or caused pain 0_0 Really good vid though, I haven't advanced enough to be doing this just yet

this looks awkward when you drop the wheights like that, not so good for your shoulders when you do it on a rubber floor. I prefer doing this in a cage with limits set at about 1 ½ foot from the floor and let the bar barely touch it for a rep
Are there any real benefits of including this in your leg routine? It looks very similar to a standard deadlift, except you can't lift as much weight.

God damnit. YOU ARE MERELY RESTATING MY ORIGINAL POINT!!! Doctor's do not specialize in exercise so it is downright retarded to consult them in the first place. Even if you are completely healthy they will tell you not to squat/deadlift, so if you're waiting for their approval, you'll never be doing the exercises. Since I apparently have to spell this out: I ENDORSE SQUATTING AND DEADLIFTING FOR KNEE HEALTH. It helped me to a speedy recovery from knee surgery a few years back.
That's the same reason I don't like doing shrugs with the bar behind me, it feels stupid and awkward. As far as hack squats I *think* you can do a version of this on the smith machine…as well as just a hack squat machine. Maybe try that instead.

@bobbytimberlake Dude, you COMPLETELY missed my point. Why don't you reread it, and then watch a few of my videos where I'm squatting to full depth and deadlifting! In a nutshell: doctors don't know shit about exercise science, so why the hell would we get clearance from them? Hell, I'd even throw orthopedic surgeons in the mix.
Clear it with a doctor first? Lol…show me ONE doctor who won't tell you squats and deadlifts are bad for your knees. It's like saying, before you go out hunting in the wild clear it with a biologist first.

@lilwill59pl Hes being as thorough as possible while covering exercises when done incorrectly can cause serious injury.
This seems like one of those exercises that you wouldn't want to do heavy weight on.
this is a good alternative to squats if your training at home but its not as challenging as a real squat
are these safe?
